The Council creates customized, dedicated Skills and Learning Portals for each of its member companies and organizations. Using the Portal, all employees have personalized access to a broad range of online learning programs to develop or enhance skills related to manufacturing and technical processes, as well as foundation, business and computer skills.
In addition to learning programs, the Portal provides step-by-step instruction guides, industry best practices and a wide range of other resources, including information about certification programs, online meeting software and tools to assess and measure learning in the workplace.
The Skills and Learning Portal also hosts online communities of practice, or Knowledge Networks, that connect employees with solutions and ideas on a wide variety of topics.
Completely customizable, Skills and Learning Portals include each member’s logo and contact information, as well as information specific to that company’s needs. Various companies have uploaded instruction manuals, policies and procedures, internal learning content and documents relating to the company health plan.
Portals also act as a platform for the content of partner organizations such as CSMO Textile (Quebec) and the Excellence in Manufacturing Consortium, making the Portal a single entry point for employee information.
