The Textile Manufacturing Basics CD-ROM and 200-page user guide is an award-winning, interactive multimedia training program available in both English and French. It is the first in a series of computer-based training programs under the Textiles Human Resources Council's Textile Training Through Technology® comprehensive workforce development system.
Textile Manufacturing Basics uses audio, graphics and animation to describe and illustrate the basics of textile manufacturing in a cost-effective, consistent and user-friendly environment. A comprehensive user guide provides in-depth explanation and additional detail about manufacturing terms and processes, including yarn manufacturing, the weaving process and the knitting process.
Textile Manufacturing Basics is the winner of the Conference Board of Canada's 2002 National Award for Learning Technologies in the Workplace and was recognized for excellence in workplace learning and development by the American Society for Training & Development (ASTD).
The program is currently used throughout the Canadian textile industry, by suppliers and educational institutions. It has been sold in more than 30 countries.
