During the THRC's essential skills pilot project, it was clear that to offer the right training resources to the people who needed them, it was necessary to measure and evaluate the needs of each company and its employees. The result of work with labour-management committees was an industry-validated tool of standardized questionnaires, communications tools and reporting formats.

The WebTraining Needs Assessment (WebTNA) Tool will migrate this work to a web-based format - providing a cost-effective and sustainable tool that allows companies to conduct assessments in-house with a minimum of outside assistance. By focusing on user-identified training needs, the WebTNA tool will support the development of training plans in individual textile facilities.

The program will also allow THRC to focus training program development, identify emerging trends and understand the changing training needs of the industry as a whole.
