THRC needs assessments indicate these skills requirements hold true in the textile industry, making core competency training in areas such as literacy, numeracy, problem solving and communication skills more important than ever.

WebFoundations builds on lessons learned at pilot sites between 1998 and 2000 by enhancing and migrating program material to a computer-based format. The program will provide computer-based learning resources to upgrade essential skills, as well as improve awareness of issues such as health and safety, quality control, the environment and energy conservation.

By allowing users to set their own learning pace and making the training relevant to the textile workplace, WebFoundations will enhance the confidence, skills levels and employability of textile workers.
