About Us

The Textiles Human Resources Council (THRC) is an independent, non-profit, industry partnership. It was created in 1994 in recognition of the overriding importance of skills development to international competitiveness. The Council develops innovative training and education solutions to respond to established and emerging human resources needs.

A flexible and highly-skilled workforce remains a major competitive advantage for textile manufacturers. The THRC works to enhance the industry's image to attract young people, foster a continuous learning environment and develop innovative skills enhancement programs.

The THRC private sector Board of Directors includes six chief executives drawn from a cross-section of the industry as well as six senior labour representatives. Three industry standing committees - a Communications Committee, a Training/Education Committee, and a Funding Committee - guide and oversee program development and other THRC activities.
